Hello hello!
This is the first post on my blog, and I’m super excited to have it up and running though there is still lots of work that I need to put in. This paper flower backdrop you see pictured here was made for my best friend’s engagement party as a photo booth. I’ve uploaded a tutorial on YouTube showing how I made this. Free flower and leaf templates included later in this post. You can check out the video tutorials here:
Part 1
Part 2
Materials You’ll Need:
- Coloured paper or card stock* of your choice
- Pencil
- Pen
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Foam board
- Floral wire
- Floral wire cutter
- Circular object
- Tape
Tips:
– *Card stock is heavier paper. Coloured paper is usually around 20lbs, but card stock is usually around 70lbs.
– If you know you’re going to make a lot of flowers (mass producing), it’s easier to break down the process: tracing the templates and cutting them all out first, then assembling the flowers, followed by attaching the flowers to your board, then finishing off with the leaves.
– Be very careful with a hot glue gun. I used a pen to hold down the petals while they secured.
Templates:
I made and used these templates myself, so they are not symmetrical or perfect in any sense. But if you like my backdrop then they got the job done 🙂
Flower Templates
I’ve numbered the petals in the order they are to be assembled, along with the number of petals of that size you’ll need.
